Olmos

Few people have spent as many years as him playing in one of the best clubs of techno music in Europe as Olmos. He has been playing his music the Sundays of Barcelona at Moog for 15 years. Few people deserves that as much as him…

He learned how to mix observing dj’s as important as Ángel Molina, Dave Tarrida or Robert X. Always close to the cabin looking at all the movements made by the hands moving while mixing. Silently, without disturbing and almost without dancing; just following with his body the rhythm of the beat.

Little by little he manage to collect some vinyl and to set up a cabin to mix in the garage of his parents, where he thought he was not going to disturb them… False.

His excellent parents had to look the TV at their dining room at the rhythm of the beats of his son.

From Monday to Friday he used to work for his parents as a roundsman nearby the Market of Sant Antoni, during the night he used to practice mixing in the garage. Over the weekends he used to visit some of the clubs of the city: learning.

The first time he was inside a club’s cabin he was controlling the lights: the best place for not loosing any detail about what the dj’s where doing. Since that day he has been working as a light technician in clubs such as Moog, República, Elrow and The Loft (Razzmatazz).

The first time he played as a dj was at the cabin of Royal Sesion in Razzmatazz with the Gemelos in 2001, since that day no one has taken the place that he deserves: the undisputed Number One of the Sunday’s night sessions of Barcelona.

Since 2001 he has shared dj booth with Dj Hell, Ken Ishii, Ángel Molina, Dj Loe, Miss Kittin or Allan Fritzpatrick. He has played in important clubs and festivals such as Trësor from Berlin, Florida 135, Fabrik, The Loft or Monegros Desert Festival.

Important and known brands as Pionner or Ecler have chosen him to try their equipment in Sonar Festival.

His sets are always different y never leave anyone indifferent: from vinyl to Trakor, passing through the cdj and finishing with a cassette tape: dj sets transformed into Live!

Musical psychology of a surrealistic artist. Admired and loved by all the artists that have known and shared dj booth with him; admired and loved too by all the people that enjoy his music from the dance floor
